Welcome to kermitsandinc.com

Kermit for many years has been a gathering spot for ATV, Buggy and Motorcycle enthusiast alike. we have seen many locals as well as people from as far away as Canada come to our little community in west Texas to enjoy some of the best riding and friendliest attitudes around.

However Locals know that every year there have been rumors floating around that the hills are going to be sold to an oil company that plan on fencing off the land to keep there fences, flow lines, lease roads and other equipment safe from vandalism. At one point even a boys camp supposebly purchased the park. Either way we all have too much invested in the sport to just sit back and someday watch these rumors turn into a reality that would devastate the off road enthusiast of west Texas.

So in december of 2005 Kermit Sandhills Inc announced their purchase of two sections of land that hold the best riding West Texas has to offer, securing our riding area for many years to come. But with the purchase of the hills came a lot of liability issues that could not be overlooked like they had been for years by the previous owners. Since all the active members of KSI are riders themselves it would not be easy for us to say we didn't know they were there if someone was to have an accident like the previous owners would have. So to release ourselves from the liability waivers had to be drawn up for all riders to sign upon entry to the park. but this alone didn't work because people would ride off without signing a waiver like they had for years. so a fence was constructed to eliminate that problem. but these waivers, fences and lawyers all cost money that should not be left up to one man to pay so everyone else can ride for free, so a $7 admission fee is being charged per rider above the age of 12 to cover these expenses and to help with all the improvements people want to see happen if there going to pay to ride. which is understandable we too want improvements and we will have them but please keep in mind this is not a state funded park so these improvements will not happen over night but they will happen if we get the full support of the locals and all others that come to the hills to ride. we want what everyone else wants, a place to go hang out with friends and family and enjoy the sport we've all come to love.

Our Goals

Our goals are simple, keep the park open for all to enjoy for years to come with the improvements everyone wants such as RV hookups, Running water, Restrooms, bigger and cleaner parking area, organized events and just a safer place to ride in general. Like I stated above they will happen its just going to take time

Thank You for your support & patients,
